For the two assignments I held at P&G as an experienced hire from 2004-2007, both were within the Global Business Services group, within two different business units, Corporate Function (Human Resources Leadership) and Information and Decision Solutions (Consumer Solutions).
Business Analyst/Consumer Solutions/iMPower Group Production Manager. Our iMPower group was a breakthrough initiative and, as part of the launching phase, traveled to Warsaw, Poland, for the iMPower Global Summit in May 2007. Within the Information and Decision Solutions function in the Global Business Services, Information & Decision Solutions, Consumer Solutions group, I provided production management of Personal Healthcare brands: Prilosec OTC, Fibersure (now merged with Metamucil), PUR, and Vicks. Business analysis of the Pet Care brands, Iams and Eukanuba provided insight into opportunities to standardize metrics and analytics that would impact P&G brands digital marketing efforts, worldwide. Using Personal Health Care brands as the launch pad and Iams/Eukanuba brands as the next-generation beta release, I led the design and development process of customized and standardized scorecard prototypes, spearheading business transformation in business analytics by capturing and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the brand(s) supported by a scorecard with back-end automation features.
In collaboration with agencies of record, interactive agencies (imc2 and Bridge Worldwide [now Possible Worldwide]), and P&G Brand Managers, I managed secure, scaled interactive marketing services, including branded websites, coupon and product sampling, contests and sweepstakes, customer relationship marketing / email campaigns, analytics, usability with word of mouth / user-generated media integration as was appropriate to the customer conversion process.
My primary responsibility, though was to identify and provide recommendations to Brand Managers on new opportunities and/or iMPower services / solutions, identified and provided ongoing business analytics, consumer data mining and reporting for program measurement and optimization through Merkle, Urchin Web Analytics, Omniture, Google Analytics, DREAMmail™, SoftCoin, and MediaVest, to name a few. During this assignment, I worked with the Service Manager’s recommended vendors for SEO on Personal Health Care products, which was the brand category for which I was assigned for digital marketing and production management. The most rewarding aspect of this assignment was that it gave me ample experience learning about best-in-class consumer product marketing within a business to consumer context.
Visual Communications Design Program Manager. My first assignment at P&G was wiithin the Human Resources function in the Visual Communications Design (VCD) group, where I interacted with global executive leadership, leading the assessment, direction, and delivery of visual communications media and tools in a way that continually optimized P&G’s ability to win in the global marketplace. In addition to providing upstream communication strategies, I was assigned as single point of contact for North America Talent Supply, Product Supply, Supply Network Solutions, Win-in-GBU, and GBS Innovation business units, while remaining flexible to incoming work and identifying new business opportunities.
